Creating relaxed, elegant interiors is my passion

Jannet Gibson Butzinger is an American Interior Architect living in Heidelberg, Germany. Having experience in Latin America, the United States, and the European Union, and well versed in many styles of design, she is best known for elegantly weaving contemporary and classical styles together for a breathtaking effect. Her organic approach to interior design emphasizes the simple and often overlooked notion that a home should reflect the personalities of the people living in it, showcasing the things they love and have collected over time. Drawing inspiration from her Texas and California roots, Jannet combines gracious southern charm with the California coast’s relaxed simplicity – all while creating individualized, often handcrafted interiors that suit her client's personal style and desires. Her aesthetic is sophisticated and solidly steeped in tradition, without being heavy or antiquated.
Jannet’s appreciation for design began at a very early age when she worked for a builder sweeping out homes in Texas. She’d find herself endlessly dreaming of the possibilities each room could become. Later, moving to the southern coast of California, she developed her love of the simple organic beauty of nature. While living in Germany and Austria as a teenager, she acquired a love of European chic and was bit by the travel bug.
Jannet holds a B.S. in Interior Design from the University of Texas and ran her own design business in San Diego for over a decade before moving to Germany in 1994. She now resides in Neckargemünd, near Heidelberg, with her husband, three daughters, two dogs, a horse and is an avid photographer. She is certified in the USA from the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and the California Council for Interior Design Certification (CCIDC), and a member of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID). In Germany, she's certified from the Architektenkammer Baden-Württemberg (AKBW) as a “Freie-Inennarchitektin” and a member of Bund der Deutscher Innenarchitekten e.V. (BDIA).
